What is Ductless Air Conditioning?
We live in an ‘instant’ world. We want things to be handy and accessible enough for our use. In this time when we are threatened with global warming, we really need to have climate controllers with us wherever we go. Indeed, we can now feel the scorching heat rays of the sun which has penetrated our ozone layer. Due to this, almost everybody wants to stay under the shade. However, even inside our homes and offices, we can still feel the sizzling heat.
For us to be relieved of this problem, several types of air conditioners came to our rescue. One of the up to date climate controllers is the ductless air conditioning system. Also called a mini-split system, it has two major components. One is a unit set on the upper portion of an inside wall. This delivers cool air to the room. On the other hand, the second unit is mounted on the outside of the house or building. Between these two units is a pair of refrigerant lines. The first one delivers the electricity while the other takes away water called condensate. Moreover, the air conditioning system also has a variable quiet blower and thermostatic control. LCD wireless remote controls operate the units. Overall, the system does not have a forced air furnace.
Having a ductless air conditioning system at home or in the office has great benefits. As it is a split system, it has several advantages over a traditional window unit. Its main advantage is its small size thereby giving flexibility for zoning or heating and cooling individual rooms. With its thermostatic control features, it can keep the room at a constant, comfortable temperature unlike other units that blast on and off. In addition, such split systems do not require moving in and out of the window when seasons change. This guarantees you security from open-window security concerns because of a moveable unit. Since it is not located in the window, you can now view what nature provides outside (which is typically blocked by window air conditioners). As the compressor is outside the building, compressor-operating noise is virtually eliminated. Lowest noise to whisper quiet place is guaranteed.
Practically speaking, ductless mini splits help save money (for purchasing ducts or pipes and for payment of installers) since its indoor air handler and outdoor condenser combination is really efficient and very simple, fast, and easy to install – just a 2-3/4 inch diameter hole on the upper wall is all that is needed for connecting the two units. If not, it may be used for interior design: the air handlers can be mounted flush into a drop ceiling, suspended from a ceiling, hung on a wall, or stood on the floor. Remote controls make it easier to operate the system. Also, since each room will have its own thermostat, the room is only air-conditioned when someone is there, thereby saving energy and money. No ducts also means avoidance of energy losses related to ductwork of central forced air systems, which accounts for more than 30% of energy consumption. Indeed, ductless air conditioning offers wide versatility in solving cooling and heating problems.
